Alma takes over Netto store in Amager
Økologisk NuWe can now announce yet another store opening: Alma Madmarked is opening on Amager, writes Alma CEO Alfred Josefsen on Tuesday in a news email to customers of the young chain, which has a strong focus on organic foods. Yay – just as I am moving out of the Inner City, Alma is opening a new store on Amagerbrogade, reads the first comment on Alma's Facebook profile regarding the upcoming store. "Such great news. Welcome to Amager," says the second comment. The premises at Amagerbrogade 54, which will house the new Alma store, currently host a Netto store. "This store is moving further down the street, and we are very pleased that it has been possible to take over the premises and open Alma store number four on Amager," writes Alfred Josefsen. He describes the location as particularly central for both those living very close to the store and for Alma's "fans" who live within a slightly larger radius, and it is only about 100 meters from the store to both Amagerbro Metro Station and parking facilities at Amager Centret. Alma will take over the premises on September 1, and Alfred Josefsen expects to spend two months on renovation and interior setup, aiming for an opening in early November 2026. "On Amagerbrogade, we aim to become both the local neighborhood store for households and families in the area and a destination store for many Amager residents who will visit less frequently but for larger weekly shopping," he writes in the newsletter. Alfred Josefsen encourages people to consider becoming ambassadors in the store. This means volunteering three hours a week in customer contact and service without pay and gaining a strong sense of community with other ambassadors and the store staff. "Our current ambassadors enjoy being part of it, and their efforts are highly valued by Alma," says the director.
