If no compromise is reached, it is possible that net contributor states will propose a reduction in the budget, Naumescu said.

If reductions are indeed inevitable, what Romania wants is that these reductions do not affect cohesion funds and the Common Agricultural Policy, which is the position our country supports alongside the group of member states called "Friends of Cohesion".

At the same time, we must consider the transition of these policies, which are undergoing a transformation process and gradually shifting focus towards competitiveness, productivity growth, technology absorption, and we must be aware of this transformation.
