What would you do? With Ágnes Bakonyvári L. and Gábor Csaba Márton about social environmental pollution (2014)

"Where all this started from..., Civil Művek is basically an association that formulates in the language of art, primarily trying to draw attention to social issues. It has a strong cinematic aspect, led by director Mária Takács, and they came up with the idea that it would be worthwhile to make such 'What would you do?' films in Hungary as well. What kind? – 'What would you do?' Mainly in England, this is already very... In England, in America, this is a very common genre. They create scenes where they are curious... this is a kind of social research method. They are curious about how a person in the environment reacts. And they made five such short films, also within a grant framework. These five short films were created, and then about a year and a half later, the idea was born that it would be worthwhile to attach an educational program as well. – This is completely new to me. So, first these five films were created, which I think we should also talk about, and based on that, a program was built. Wasn't that what the grant was about? – That's right. – But this isn't even the program we're going to discuss now. It has an even earlier version. I did that with another colleague, Györgyi Kövesi. It was implemented in the form of single-session workshops. We met with a class for ninety minutes, showed them this film. And then, in connection with it, we played and discussed the topic raised by the film. – So I’ll put this together: basically, a pedagogical program based on these five films for school students, high school students. -Yes. – Why? Why? – Ágnes? – I was thinking that initially I understood, what do you think about this? This is also a very important question. Because I am very hungry right now... – Yes, yes. I placed the emphasis in the wrong place... but it is still more important what you would do, if? And then countless sentence endings could follow. Because in our everyday lives, we find ourselves in situations on the street, in open spaces, in other interactions, where our answers are supposedly already there, if someone were to ask us directly, what would you do if someone collapsed next to you on the street. Then, every sensible person has a very positive answer, that of course I would help. However, when we actually find ourselves in such a situation, well... I think these very positive answers we give ourselves, which create a positive image of ourselves, are quite questionable."
