Updated book about brown pubs now shows where you can get organic beers

On Saturday, August 29th, there will be a launch of the new edition of the book 'The Brown Aalborg,' which is a story about the many brown pubs around the city. The launch will take place from 10 am to 12 pm at Mallorca Bar, where speeches will be given by, among others, Mayor Lasse Frimand Jensen (S), multi-artist Jonny Hefty, and Per Clausen, a member of the European Parliament for the Red-Green Alliance. The new edition of the book includes 16 pubs that were not featured last time, and as a new addition, there is also an overview of places that serve organic beer. The book was originally published in 2018 as a tribute to Aalborg and its many brown pubs and their regular patrons. At that time, the book sold out quickly, and a total of 75,000 DKK was raised for KFUM's social work at Café Parasollen, with the proceeds from the book sales going to that cause. The 2026 edition will have more than 300 pages, a description of 38 pubs, and numerous photos from both current and historical times. Since the last edition, the author team has expanded to include Eva Melchior Jensen and Morten Svensgaard. They have joined the authors from 2018—Anders Fuglsang and Rasmus Prehn, who have since become CEO of the Organic Association. All authors have worked voluntarily. The book is designed by newly graduated media graphic designer Christian Frost. Guest writers in the book include former social director Mai-Britt Iversen, former director of Aalborg Congress & Culture Center Ernst Trillingsgaard, and as a new addition, Aalborg Mayor Lasse Frimand Jensen (S), Member of Parliament Sofie Therese Svendsen (K), Regional Council Chairman Mads Duedahl, as well as Per Clausen (EL) and Susanne Flydtkjær (EL) from the regional council. Once again, the proceeds from the book sales will go to KFUM's social work at Café Parasollen.

The new edition of the book includes 16 pubs that were not included last time, and as a new feature, there is also an overview of places that serve organic beer.

The book was originally published in 2018 as a tribute to Aalborg and the many brown pubs and their regulars. At that time, the book quickly sold out, and a total of 75,000 DKK was collected for KFUM's social work at Café Parasollen, which the profit from the book sales went to.
