Loyalty Group's annual survey of Danes' perceptions of supermarkets, the BrancheIndex Grocery 2026, awards Meny six out of nine subcategories, including organic products, customer trust, service quality, and product quality. The chain also secures two second-place finishes, helping to ensure its overall victory ahead of Rema 1000. The survey shows that Meny has the most satisfied and loyal customers in the country. Overall, Danes, like last year, consider Meny the most attractive supermarket chain, according to a press release from Loyalty Group. Richo Boss, chain director at Meny, believes the award demonstrates that "quality pays off in the end." "We are Denmark's Food Market, and all our skilled FOODworkers go to work every day with a smile and a passion for raw materials, food, and for inspiring and providing good service. I am incredibly proud of both our 116 shopkeepers and approximately 6,000 FOODworkers who ensure we stay in first place. This shows that Danes also want to talk about quality, Danish products, organic options, and animal welfare in a year when price has otherwise been a major focus," says the director. He particularly notes that Meny improves in the category "Value for Money." Tough competition for customers "The battle for the basket is incredibly tough. Customers don't come by themselves, and we really have to earn it every time a customer steps into our store. We must prove that we want to create Denmark's best shopping experience every day, all year round," he says. The honor is further reinforced by the fact that B.T.'s readers have ranked Meny as "Supermarket of the Year" for the past three years in a row. Regarding the development, Lars Jepsen, research manager at Loyalty Group, states: "Meny has shown consistent progress, which indicates that Danes want a wide selection and a high level of expertise and service. For Meny, it is worth noting that customer responses show trust in the chain and that the experience is stable from visit to visit. They recognize that service and shopping experience are always good. It will be interesting to follow the chain's results in the coming years."
