Sebastian Hedemann is Organic Student of the Year 2026

For Sebastian Hedemann, organic farming is about more than just classroom instruction. Throughout his education, he has had a particular interest in organic crop production, and even when he has been away at school, he has spent his free time helping out at his internship farm, Hulvadgaard. These were some of the reasons why he was named Organic Student of the Year 2026 at the annual meeting of the Agriculture & Food Council’s Organic Section at Tjele Manor. In a press release about the award, Sebastian Hedemann is described as a young man with exceptionally strong professional skills and insight into how technology can be used in organic farming. “He uses CropManager to create application maps for variable-rate seeding, and he is out in the fields early and late, often with a drone, studying the differences between the fields,” reads part of the description of Sebastian Hedemann, who completed his education as an EUX farmer at Gråsten Agricultural College, specializing in crops, and did his practical training with crop producer Jens Peter Pors Eriksen at Hulvadgaard. Both his instructors and internship host highlight his professional curiosity, thoroughness, and ability to take responsibility. The nomination of Sebastian Hedemann states: “Sebastian Hedemann is passionate about organic crop production and has maintained a particular focus on organic farming throughout his education. Whenever he has been able to choose the subject of his assignments, they have also concerned organic farming. According to both his instructors and internship host, Sebastian is always eager to learn more and improve his skills.” 10 competed for the award Sebastian is currently in Australia working.
