EurozineHow does a farming enterprise in Kharkiv region continue to operate near the combat zone, facing shelling and mobilization of workers, and what does it mean for the country's food security?
A farming enterprise in the Kharkiv region continues to operate approximately five kilometers from the combat zone. Farmers note that since 2024, they have been facing not only nearby hostilities but also targeted attacks by the Russian military on tractors during fieldwork. Out of the entire farm team, only five workers remain. The others have been mobilized, injured, or forced to relocate due to constant danger. Yet, even under these conditions, the farm continues its operations, providing the country with crops and supporting its economy.
